Civil registry record translation

For a civil registry record translation, send the document you got from e-Devlet or the civil registry office to Universe Tercüme’s office in Ataşehir. We translate records with or without life events for visa, family reunification, marriage and citizenship applications. First we check together which record type the institution wants and whether a multilingual extract is enough.

Universe Tercüme · Document guideUpdated:

Which civil registry record is needed?

There are different kinds of civil registry record: one showing only the person, one showing family members, and a record with life events such as marriage, divorce and births. Visa or family reunification lists may say “full record with events” or “family register extract”. Translating the wrong type means getting a new document, so share the institution’s exact wording with us.

e-Devlet barcoded documents and multilingual extracts

A civil registry record from e-Devlet carries a barcode and verification code that allow the document to be checked. The translation renders these codes and the issue date in full. Ask in advance whether the institution abroad accepts an e-Devlet printout or wants a wet-signed document or an apostille.

Multilingual extracts available from civil registry offices (formula A for birth, B for marriage, C for death) may be accepted without translation in some countries. If the institution wants the Turkish civil registry record, it needs translating.

Frequently asked questions

Is a civil registry record from e-Devlet enough for translation?

It is enough to translate. Whether it is accepted abroad and whether it needs an apostille is up to the receiving institution.

Do I need to translate my civil registry record if I have a formula A extract?

It depends on the institution. Some accept the multilingual extract without translation; others want the Turkish record translated.

If the record has several pages, are they all translated?

Yes. All pages listing family members and events, and the barcode details, are translated.
