Both sides of the card are translated
On card-type licences, personal details are on the front, while the categories (such as A, B, C), the issue and expiry date for each category and restriction codes are on the back. Send clear photos or scans of both sides. Codes on the back (for example glasses or automatic-only restrictions) are rendered as they appear in the source.
Older paper licences and some foreign documents may show categories with different letters or in their own language. The translation keeps the source category name and does not interpret its equivalent.
Who sets the rules for use and exchange?
How long you may drive in Türkiye on a foreign licence, exchanging a foreign licence for a Turkish one, and using a Turkish licence in another country are all governed by the competent authorities of the country concerned, and these rules can change. Ask the authority you are applying to whether a translation is enough and whether notarization or an international driving permit is needed.
