Languages we cover
You can find Universe Tercüme’s language portfolio below. Project suitability and the delivery plan are clarified at the quote stage, based on the language pair, the subject area, whether the service is interpreting or written translation, and the certification required. Do not assume the same turnaround or the same form of service for every language on the list at all times.

State both the source and the target language
“I need an English translation” may not be enough on its own. Write whether you need a translation from Turkish into English or from English into Turkish. If you need a translation between two foreign languages, state both languages. For more than one target language, the file scope, fee and delivery plan are assessed separately.
For detailed application preparation, see our English translation and German translation guides. For requests in French, Spanish, Italian or any other language, also share the written requirements of the institution that will receive the document.
How do country, language and institutional requirements relate?
Countries that share a language may have different practices for accepting documents. That is why it matters to state the country and the institution as well as the target language. For websites and marketing texts, the target market, form of address and local terminology preferences also shape translation decisions. For official documents, the spelling of names, the date format and any specific instructions from the receiving institution are taken into account.
For Dutch, state which target market your request is for, such as the Netherlands or Belgium. It helps to share details at the outset, such as the target country and purpose for Arabic content, or the required script for Chinese requests. If stamps or attachments on the document are in a different language, include them in the request as well.
Does the choice of language determine the certification needed?
Choosing a language alone does not determine whether notarization or an apostille is required. The receiving institution’s requirements on translator qualifications, declarations, signatures and delivery format should be checked separately. Send the institution’s instructions with your document; do not choose a procedure based on the country name alone.
Preparing multilingual projects
- Prepare the final version of the files to be translated and the list of languages.
- State the country where each target language will be used and the delivery format.
- Share the preferred spellings of brand, personal and organisation names.
- If there is a shared deadline, confirm it is feasible for all languages.
- Agree which file revisions will be made on.
Frequently asked questions
Does having 48 languages on the list mean every language pair is offered?
No. The language pair, subject area and timing of each request, including translations between two foreign languages, are assessed individually.
Can I have the same document translated into more than one language?
Your request can be assessed with a separate scope and delivery plan for each target language. Share the list of languages and all documents at the outset.
Which country should I state for an English document?
State the country where the document will be used and the receiving institution. Even for documents in the same language, institutions may have different certification and delivery expectations.
This guide is for general information. Confirm the document and certification requirements for your application with the relevant institution, and include the current list of requirements in your translation request.
